HUGE statement pieces - "Looking at Music"
I was approached for my very own solo exhibition in the heart of Berlin! Upon viewing the venue, I knew right away that I needed new work and it needed to be BIG!
It took me about 2 months to paint 7 completely new, HUGE pieces and I am very happy with how they came out.
7 of the biggest canvas artworks I ever painted are now available. They were a labor of love (and sweat and sore arms, cause they are heavy!). Each one measures 120x160cm (approx. 47x63").
Inspired by my favorite songs, they will brighten your home considerably!
Looking at this piece is bittersweet. It makes me feel torn. It reminds me of all the dark times in my life, but at the same time, the growth that resulted from them. The light and new that came with each hurdle I had crossed.
Named after one of my all-time favorite songs from Florence + the Machine, this piece is part of an on-going series inspired by music.
120x160x3.8cm, acrylic on canvas, comes to you signed (on the side) and unstretched, on loose canvas (you need to let it be stretched on canvas bars by a local framer) due to its size.
I offer payment plans for 2-6 months. If you would like to take advantage of this, please write me an email at magic@juliabadow.com with the subject „payment plan“ and your desired time span and the title of the piece(s) you‘d like to purchase. Once a piece is paid in full I‘ll ship it to you.
When I look at this painting I get excited, I want to do things. It energizes me in a way coffee never could and lifts my spirits.
Named after one of my favorite Marina and the Diamond songs (slightly altered bc the internet doesn’t like the B word), this painting is part of an ongoing series inspired by music.

This painting makes me feel brave and determined to succeed in the world, no matter the odds. To change and rearrange my life until I am satisfied. What does it make you feel?
The soundtrack of Broadway's "Hamilton" is on a constant loop in my studio. The song "My Shot" inspired me to paint this new work as part of an ongoing series inspired by music.

I see the clear blue reef and hear the sound of waves lapping against the shore of Motunui when looking at this piece.
Moana heavily inspired my color choices and I created the whole piece while listening to its incredible soundtrack. That's why I called it "How Far I'll Go"!

This painting is about longing and belonging and also trust. It makes me feel excited and safe at the same time and inspires me to take a leap of faith. What do you feel looking at it?
The soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann's "Moulin Rouge" is one of my all-time favorites! Especially "Come What May" gets me every time and inspired me to paint this new work as part of an ongoing series inspired by music.

This piece is the darkest of all the paintings in this series. It's moody and unapologetic but also romantic in it's yearning.
The artwork is inspired by a haunting song from New Zealand singer Hayley Westenra. "Who Painted The Moon Black" has accompanied me through countless sleepless nights.

No matter how exhausted I am this song gets me up and dancing! Strong and feminine, girly and boss, this piece is a statement for my love of pink and my wish for women to step up and embrace their inner fierceness!
Beyoncé had to be part of this series and for me "Naughty Girl" represents a whole new level of female power.
