I'm not drowning. I can breathe underwater.

I'm not drowning. I can breathe underwater.
Rather than fighting the current or paddling toward shore, it explores the moment of being all alone out at sea. The quiet realisation that nobody is coming to save you and the choice to sink or swim.
You have done this for so long, been lost at sea so many times, it almost feels like home now. You are no longer drowning, because you have learned to transform, to adapt, to evolve.
Who would have known you could learn to breathe underwater. The freedom, the euphoria, the quiet knowledge that no matter what happens next, you'll be alright.
This painting includes themes of learning to adapt in difficult environments, surviving one transformation after another, being reborn like Venus from the ocean mist, eternally pivoting, constantly at capacity, but never breaking, no matter how high the intensity life throws at you. This artwork speaks about quiet resilience, inner strength, and most of all, hope.
